When this glamorous furry yarn came out recently from our favorite friends in Wales, we and all our trendiest friends were all abuzz with this hot addition to the Colinette world. It's Silky Chic, and sure enough, we all thought it was just the shiz (Kevin is blindly reaching here into the hip vernacular). It's those Colinette-classic awe-inspiring hand-painted amazing colorways on a modern and best quality and best looking fur we've seen in the industry to date. It's 100% polyamide (polyamide is to Nylon like gelatin is to Jell-O, in case you didn't know), but has a nicer hand and keeps its shape better than other fuzzy faux furry fibers. [Hint: Try dampening it and blasting it a little with a hair dryer if it starts looking a little crumpled.]
There was one mystery, though. Why did the label have a picture of a hen on it? It looks a little feathery, but really much more like fur. Then we heard it in the Welsh accent! They pronounce chic so it sounds like chick!
Watch for the new 2005 colors and the great patterns in the new Akashya book!
