About seven years ago Elise’s family took a road trip across the country to her in-laws in Seattle. The trip took six weeks, a very large bus and more yarn than you can imagine. Elise knit about 50 hats for the craft shows she was selling at that year. The kids called it the Hats Across America tour, but secretly she knew it was the Bathrooms Across America tour.

By the time they reached the state of Montana everyone was very tired. They figured it was a good place to rest because it was a calming, beautiful place. Suddenly, Elise realized where she had seen some of those gorgeous colors before… it was the yarn that Jan was trying to sell her for her design business. She vowed that when she got back to New York she would give Jan a call… which of course led to Elise’s discovery of Mountain Colors Yarn.
