We've had Addi Turbos forever. People who love them really love them. Well, we know better than to get into any "The Best Needles In The World Are..." debates. Get a thousand knitters in a room and you'll have a thousand opinions on that one (and a very crowded room!). You'll also have a thousand different variants of technique and that's just the way we love it. So we cater to everyone's favorites the best we can. Turbos are no exceptions.
It all started with a phone call well before the shop was open or stocked. The call was from Elise's mom, Norma, knitter extroadinaire, maker of many models in the shop and those much-loved heirlooms all through our home. She said, "Elise, you have to carry Addi Turbos, you know. Right?" Elise is a straight-needle chick, choosing a seam to a circular needle anyday. Besides that she eschews anything metal for personal use since she has some arcane skin alergy that's triggered by some metal alloys (ever seen anyone ride the subway with white gloves--no, Elise is *not* a snob). And this is long enough ago that Kevin was still pretty much a yarn dummy. So neither Elise nor Kevin had a clue about Turbos. Norma was aghast. Naturally, we did promised to carry our favorite knitter's favorite needles.
And today we still do. Like everything else we do, we do it in excess (it's not a creed or anything, we're just incapable of doing it any other way...). So we have them all (even the straights) and in deep quantities. Thanks, Norma!
