We are always on the quest for a perfect machine-washable yarn that doesn't involve acrylics. So imagine our excitement, when we heard about the introduction of the Manos' Stria line. This yarn comes in twelve vibrant colors, all vat-dyed in the same striated process as the wool.

Since their introduction last spring, we have seen baby and children's sweaters, blankets, adult sweaters and vests, and even mittens, in many combinations of solids and stripes. Every single different combination of these colors has been gorgeous. Elise is right now planning on making a striped sweater for our grandson, Henry, using every color.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When the workers at the Manos Del Uruguay cooperative skein the yarn, they use the yarn in the skein to tie up the bundle. Therefore, do NOT cut the yarn to unbundle it when winding into a ball. Elise uses a darning needle to loosen the knots.
