Flying Fingers

WINTER TIME AND KNITTING IS THE BEST!
Now that the cold weather is settling in, the needles are flying – both in the shop and in my house. As my kids get older, they are “giving in” to their knitting birthright more and more. It’s really fun to find their half knitted projects all over my living room! These days I’m finishing up projects like crazy. I am almost done with my daughter Leydi’s coat. Made from Peruvia Quick, it knitted like a dream. Because it was so big and knit in one piece, it had the added advantage of keeping me warm while I worked. I’ll get Dillon to post a photo on the blog! I am about to concentrate on finishing the coat for myself (made out of Lang’s Piora).
Amy is starting a coat from Hop Yard’s Woodland Spun (Yum!). This is definitely the season for coats around here. My Mission Falls sweater is coming along …. Back is finished, front is about halfway. I really want to wear it, I’m just having a hard time working on those size 5’s. Stop laughing…. I know eventually my desire to wear that gorgeous black sweater will overcome…. I finally finished Maxx’s blanket from Weaver’s Wool and he took it up to school after Thanksgiving. I actually miss having it to work on. Uh oh…. My black sweater will have to wait, I feel a new blanket coming on. … my biggest problem, as usual, which delicious yarn to use….. will keep you updated, Elise ~

THE BLOG GOES ON
Dillon is doing a great job with the blog! He writes (along with Elise’s comments) during their evening cocktail hours. This means there is often input from Miranda, Elise’s youngest daughter, as she usually sticks around for the hor d’oeuvres. Check it out and let us know what you think. Link & class schedule. So check out Elise's Flying Fingers and get the latest in store Class Schedule as well.

What is the Yarn Bus?

What is the Yarn Bus?  ®
Simple! We want to see you!
It's our way of giving you a free ride from New York City to our Westchester shop!
It runs twice a day on Saturdays and Sundays (and other times and places by special arrangement).

Our shop is half an hour north of Manhattan, so a 3½ hour adventure gets you up here from one of our convenient stops in Manhattan, gives you ample time for shopping and browsing, and then gets you back to your stop in the city again. All while having a great time—just ask any of our hundreds of happy riders!

The bus is always free! It's so easy to sign up, with just a quick e-mail or call. The great thing is that since the bus runs so often, we almost never say no, even if you're reserving late in the week.

Come up this weekend. It's great with friends or just treat yourself.

How to ride the bus:

You have to get your free reservation. Send us the e-mail with what you want. We send you back the reservation. You show up for the bus. That's it. It's that simple.
